Stepping Stones: How to Create a Realistic Path to Your Ideal Life

Moneyology - Chapter 3 - Blog 5

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the thought of achieving your ideal life? It's easy to get lost in the grandeur of our dreams and forget that success is often achieved in small, incremental steps. In this blog, I want to talk to you about the power of stepping stones and how they can help you create a realistic path towards your ideal life. (This is based on an exert from chapter 3 of my book, Moneyology)

You may have big dreams of owning a mansion or driving a luxury car, but the truth is, these things often come with a high price tag. So instead of being discouraged by the seemingly impossible costs, consider breaking down your dream into smaller, achievable goals. For example, if you live in a two-bedroom house, aim for a three or four-bedroom place in a nice area as a stepping stone towards your ultimate dream home.

It's essential to be specific about your goals and know their associated costs. Don't be afraid to price out the life you want, even if you cannot yet spend that money. This knowledge can help remove some of the fear and make your dream seem more attainable.

Keep going - upgrade one level at a time rather than just aiming for the next level up. So, for example, if you're used to economy travel, aim for premium economy before moving on to business class. This same principle can be applied to all areas of your life, whether upgrading your wardrobe, improving your fitness level, or advancing your career.

It's important to keep your ultimate goal in mind and acknowledge the small successes along the way. Upgrading to premium economy may not be as glamorous as first class, but it's still an achievement worth celebrating. By breaking down your goals into smaller, achievable steps, you'll be motivated to keep going and inspired to keep reaching for more.

Remember, your vision acts like a magnet - the clearer your vision, the more you'll draw the right people and opportunities to you. So keep your eye on the prize, but don't be afraid to take small, mindful steps towards your dreams.
