Why You Need to Know Why Money is Important to You

Moneyology - Chapter 2 - Blog 1

Have you ever asked yourself why money is important to you? It's a question that's often ignored, yet it's the key to unlocking your true financial potential. In this post, we'll explore why this is such an important question and how it can help you achieve financial freedom.

As a money coach, I first ask my clients why money is important to them. It's the start of a deep dive into discovering what they really want from life. Unfortunately, most initial responses are vague, with the top choice being financial freedom. But what does financial freedom mean to you? It's essential to ask yourself why you want it and what it looks, smells, and feels like. This will help you determine what financial freedom means to you personally.

We get more out of life when we know our purpose and live in accordance with fulfilling it. For some, their purpose is evident from an early age. But for others, like myself, discovering your purpose in life takes time and deep digging. The journey to get there is a long haul, but you learn so much about yourself and life itself.

Aligning your money-making activities to your purpose is the key to success. When you align with your purpose, what you do daily to generate more income no longer feels like work. You'll be more motivated, more productive, and more focused. You'll feel like you're living your ideal life, not just working to pay the bills.

Why Is Money Important To Me?

You don't need to have this conversation with anyone else. To begin with, it can be between just you and your journal. The prompt you start with is, "Why is money important to me?" Then, continue journaling until you have a detailed description to make happen in reality to live your ideal life.

Remember, money is just a tool. It doesn't have a mind of its own and has no opinion on whether you are worthy of accumulating money. Your current financial position is down to you, and so is your wealthy future. Awareness of your core beliefs and values can help steer you through the twists and turns you'll encounter to wealth and prosperity.

So, ask yourself, why is money important to you?

Then, take the time to explore this question and use the answer to guide your financial decisions. You'll be surprised at the difference it can make in your life.
